Show some understanding of the history of portraiture as well as explore the use of selection tools and layers within Photoshop
Students explore the different types of portraits there are and find examples of each.
Students explore the work of Julian Wolkenstein in creating symmetrical faces, and then create their own.
Students explore some portrait photographers. This session could also be left as an extra.
In preparation for their Portrait Assignment, students gain advice for what makes a good portrait and interviews the subject of their portrait.
Students take a portrait of another classmate. They do some basic adjustments, put it into a template, add an Artist Statement and prepare the file for printing.
